Garbage Collection Regulations:

  • Garbage must be at the curb by 6:00 am on collection day, and removed from the curb by the end of the day.
  • Garbage cans must be water tight and have lids.
  • Residents are permitted a maximum of two 50-gallon containers, or bundles not exceeding 4 ft. and 50 lbs. total per pickup.




Mondays & ThursdaysWest of, and including, Franklin Turnpike to Wyckoff border.
Tuesdays & FridaysEast of Franklin Turnpike to Saddle River border.

Prohibited Items

Items not accepted in your regular garbage collection:

  • Bulk items - schedule for our monthly bulk collection at waldwicknj.gov/bulk.
  • Metal and appliances - schedule for our monthly metal collection at waldwicknj.gov/metal.
  • Electronics - schedule for our monthly electronics collection at www.waldwicknj.gov/electronics.
  • Construction materials - construction materials such as roofing materials, siding, concrete, and pallets are not collected by the Borough. Please arrange disposal of these materials privately.
  • Household Hazardous Waste - items considered hazardous must be disposed of with the BCUA. Hazardous items include: 
    • Paint
    • Fire extinguishers
    • Propane tanks, gasoline, and kerosene
    • Fluorescent lightbulbs
    • Motor oil
    • Disinfectants, solvents, insecticides, drain cleaners, etc.


Garbage and bulk items are not collected at the Recycling Center at 19 Industrial Park.


Holiday Schedule

If one of the holidays listed below falls on your collection day, garbage will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day:

New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1), Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 27), and Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25). 


Garbage will be collected on President’s Day (Monday, February 17), Memorial Day (Monday, May 26), Independence Day (Friday, July 4), Labor Day (Monday, September 1), Columbus Day (Monday, October 13) and Veterans Day (Tuesday, November 11).

Visit the Clerk’s office to pick up yard waste and recycling stickers for your cans/containers. Avoid missed pickups!
