Join Our Team as a School Traffic Guard

Make a difference in your community by helping keep children safe on their way to and from school. School Traffic Guards play a vital role in protecting students who walk or bike to school by assisting them with safe street crossings and serving as a visible reminder to motorists to exercise caution in school zones. Through their guidance and example, crossing guards also help children develop lifelong pedestrian safety habits.

Position Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen and resident of the State of New Jersey.

• Be in good physical health, with adequate vision, hearing, mobility, and the ability to react quickly to potential traffic hazards.

• Be of good moral character.

• Have no criminal convictions involving moral turpitude.

Employment Information

• Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

• Starting Pay: $28.93 per hour

• Appointments are made as Unclassified Appointments pursuant to N.J.A.C. 4A:3-1.3.
